Upon completion of this educational activity, learners should be able to:

  • Identify residential exposures to industrial air pollutants among women in the California Multiethnic Cohort from 1993–2016
  • Discuss that several industrial pollutants (i.e., dichloromethane, tetrachloroethylene, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, diethanolamine, lead, and methyl ethyl ketone) were associated with breast cancer risk.
  • Learn that formaldehyde exposure was specifically associated with hormone receptor negative breast cancer, highlighting potential etiologic heterogeneity by tumor subtype.
This activity is designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals who specialize in or have an interest in OEM. Advanced practitioners such as industrial hygienists, safety professionals and environmental health specialists will receive value from participating in the activity.
