This first course in the program covers Graduated Return to Work, a transitional arrangement that enables workers to get back to work earlier after illness or injury, which provides significant personal, economic, and workforce benefits. This course is designed to equip health professionals to be better able to contribute to graduated return to work programs.
Upon completion of this educational activity, learners should be able to:
• Identify the health benefits of work.
• Describe the risks and benefits of early return to work.
• Identify role of the treatment provider in return to work.
• Identify return to work barriers.
• Facilitate persistent recovery in return-to-work initiatives.
The course provides an excellent and comprehensive introduction to graduated return to work programs for the non-OEM specialist or new entrant.
